Szczep Wodny Dunajec, powstal po inicjatiwie Polonii na terenie w Hamilton, jesienia
1953 roku. Poczatki szczepu powstaly przy Sekcji Pan przy kole S.P.K Nr. 23. Sprawa
ta zajmuje sie p. Rudnicka kontaktujac sie z komenda Choragwi w Toronto.
Gromada zuchow- mieszana zorganizowana w 1953 roku powieksza stale swoj stan i w
1954 zuchow-chlopcow przekazuje sie do organizacji meskiej.
Druzynowym Gromady zostaje H.O. Dh. S. Omielanowicz. Zbiorki odbywaja sie regularnie
i chlopcy chetnie uczeszczaja.
W tym samym roku Dh. phm. W. Orzechowski organizuje 2-ga druzyne harcerzy im. Sw.
A Boboli, ktora juz w lecie bierze udzial w obozie w Barry's Bay.
W roku 1961 sztandar jest unfundowany dla Szczepu, Szczepowy Szczepu Wodnego "Dunajec"
jest Pod Harcmistrz Tomasz L. Kasprzyk.
Szczep Wodny Dunajec, or literally the Water Tribe ‘Dunajec’ (English-Scouting Terminology
Group, referring to the city) began its modest roots in the 1930s, with the initiatives
of the local Polish-Canadian Community, but it wasn’t until the initiation and establishment
of the National Banner (Council) of Polish Scouts in Canada, that the Group was officially
set up.
Organized under the initiative of the Polish Ladies Committee in the Polish ex-combatants
association, the group was organized to hold both a troop of cub scouts and scouts,
to serve the Polish Community within the City of Hamilton.
The Banner of the Szczep, was donated in 1961, becoming the hall-mark of the establishment
of the Szczep in itself. Nearly five decades later, the Szczep has grown in considerable
size to become a major representation of the Polish-Canadian Community within the
City of Hamilton.
